The Light of Christ Within

For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face (Gk. prosopon, personal presence) of Jesus Christ. 7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.(2 Corinthians 4:6-7 (KJV)

God has caused light to come upon and then dwell in every believer, wonderful light, to shine out of the darkness and fill the heart.

Now, we as believers have come into “the light of the knowledge of the glory of God” by coming to know Christ personally, as He lives and moves within us.

Our Lord rightly said: “No man cometh unto the Father but by Me” (John 14:6). God is unknown and unknowable apart from Christ, who once lived as God manifested in the flesh… but now we can know Him because He lives within us. He thereby brings us into total union, relationship, and fellowship with the Godhead. For this was the great “mystery (secret)” that was revealed by Christ to Paul … for us.

“Whereof I (Paul) am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God; 26  Even the mystery (secret plan of God) which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: 27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory (the manifestation) of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ In You, the hope of glory:”

(Colossians 1:25-27 (KJV)

Now we have the innermost sense of His life affirming us, guiding us, teaching us, while also empowering us, and otherwise living His life through us.

“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20 (KJV)
