Part 11 – Romans Chapters 12-16

This Article is part of a multi-part Study Series called Romans Road of Core Dispensational Truth.

Having studied the foregoing Romans chapters as basis of our secure salvation in Christ and the total victory program Paul presents in Romans 1-8, Paul proceeds to instruct properly knowledgeable believers in the practical application of Christ as the new life in the believer, desiring to flow out through us.

I APPEAL to (not command, cf. Philem. 1:8-9) you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship. 2Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].” (Rom 12:1-2 (AMP)

The Persistent Gifting Ministries Listed (even after tongues and the word of knowledge cease):

“For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith (gifting for their function). 4For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office (Gk. praxis, work or function): 5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. 6  Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy (speaking forth), let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; 7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; 8  Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth (Gk. proistemi, presides over) with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.” (Romans 12:4-8)

Believer’s Life in Society: Rom 12:9-21

Believer’s Relation to Government: “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. 2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: 4For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he (secular authority) beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. 5  Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. 6 For this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. 7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.” (Rom 13:1-7)

Believer’s Relation to Other Believers: Rom 14:1-23 Don’t flaunt your liberty, causing anone to violate their faith.

Believers are the Fruit of the Root: Rom 15:12 “And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.” “…‘I (Jesus) am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.” (Revelation 22:16)

Romans 16:17-27: Abide in Paul’s Romans doctrine.

“Now I beseech (beg) you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. 18  For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple” (Romans 16:17-18) 20

“And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.” (Romans 16:20)

“Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, 26  But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: 27  To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.” (Romans 16:25-27)
