Part 2 – The Christ-Seed ‘In You’

This Article is part of a multi-part Study Series called Our Organic Union with the Lord - a 3-Part Series.

“To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ In You, the hope of glory:” (Colossians 1:27)

Seeing that God, in Christ, as “the Spirit of life,” really lives within us should bring an explosion of further revelations, joy, appreciation, and thankfulness to God our Father. The Apostle Paul himself also had just such a “revelation” of which he wrote; “when God… was pleased 16to REVEAL His Son IN ME…” (Gal. 1:15-16a).

You might ask yourself, ‘Have I had a revelation of Christ living within me?’ Such a revelation and realization will change your Christian life forever. Such people then know that they are first and foremost a literal born child of God the Father (Rom. 8:16).

Paul wrote of this new living relationship wherein we as believers are “No More A Servant but A SON” (Gal. 4:7). Having received this revelation, we don’t ‘work for the Lord as His servants’ in order to gain or to earn His favor... we’ve already “been blessed with all spiritual blessing in Christ Jesus” (Eph. 1:3). Our good works now proceed out of a pure heart, that is pure in motive; out of a newly found love and appreciation for the Lord’s unconditional never-ending love and grace toward us.

In this way of new life by the Father’s “Seed which is Christ” now in us, we can see that we are pregnant with Christ being “formed” in our soul’s mind, emotion and will. Only Father’s give life, while mothers, such as Mary, bear and treasure that life unto to completion. One day, in the rapture, we will have come to the full expression of the glorious seeded life within us. Paul wrote of his frustration with the Galatians who had left grace and faith to go back under “the Law.” “… I (Paul) travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,” (Gal. 4:19).

We as regenerated believers who have Christ in us (Rom. 8:9-10) have new life in us, conceived of God the Father. Just as a conceived child grows in the confines of his mother’s womb, we grow by our spirit-union with His “Spirit of life” IN US. Just as a fetus shares the riches (nutrients) of the mother’s blood we also share in the riches of His life in us. Just as the mother’s blood takes away all the waste from the baby’s blood, we enjoy that Christ has taken away the waste of our “old” sin-nature (Rom. 6:6-7) that was in us in us by our natural creation as “sons of Adam.” As we grow in the knowledge and grace of the Lord we are being renewed in souls, as He is being formed in us.’

“For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward (soul) man is renewed day by day.” (2 Corinthians 4:16)

Some may ask, “How could Abraham bear upon God’s relationship with members of “the body of Christ? Isn’t Abraham a Jew?” No, Abraham never was a Jew. The “children of Israel” did come out of Abraham’s earthly “seed” three generations later. Christ as Jesus of Nazareth was also born of Abraham’s seed, physically.

The important fact is that Abraham is the model for and the father of all men of faith (cf. Rom. 4:11). God promised Abraham; in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. (Gen. 12:3) The matter of God transmitting the Spirit form of faithful Abraham’s “Seed, which is Christ” into us has been God’s plan from eternity past. The birth of Jesus of Nazareth was the result of God’s predetermined eternal plan and purpose. It also followed a specific route in terms of Jesus’ genealogical record. Both of the following lineages of the promised “Seed of the woman” (Gen. 3:15) are fulfilled in Jesus.

  1. We see Jesus’ human lineage from Adam (Lk. 3:23-38) that gave Him a human body via Mary, a 15-year old Jewess; and
  2. We see Jesus’ lineage as the promised King of Israel, tracing back to Abraham (Matt. 1:1-2) and through David as King of Israel via Joseph as “the husband of Mary” (according to Jewish custom and law). Jesus’ Royal lineage as seen in Matthew confirms Him to be the real and eternal “King of Kings.”

Jesus, by His conception was “the Son of God” and by His incarnation “the Son of Man.” These are the two terms used of Jesus of Nazareth. He was equipped with His Mary-body so He could suffer and die to redeem mankind by the shedding of His ‘Royal Blood’ for “the sin of the world” (John 1:29). Then, according to the eternal plan of God, He was raised again for our justification” (Rom. 4:25) and to be “the (real) life” in us.

Note also that with Adam’s fall in the Garden, God also promised a “seed” of the woman that would come and “bruise his (the Serpent’s) head.” “One” would come to crush the headship of Satan over humanity.

14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: 15  And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it (Jesus Christ) shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” (Genesis 3:14-15 (KJV)

Thus, Jesus of Nazareth was “conceived of the Holy Spirit” of God in an Abrahamic woman, according to God’s eternal plan. This was just as God’s blue-print of creation had been formulated before the creation of the universe… to be fulfilled in Jesus Christ. By the cross, Jesus “died for All (men),” (2Cor. 5:15). Those who ‘trust in Christ are “baptized (set) into His death,” being thereby freed from the Serpent’s dominion (Rom. 6:3, 6-7).  Thus, we died “in Christ” and he that is dead is freed from sin (Sin’s dominion).” (Romans 6:7).

Regarding God’s promise of Abraham’s seed being a “blessing to all the families of the earth,” Paul gives us more information as it relates to the members of “the body of Christ.”

Galatians 3:27-29 as many of you as have been baptized (set) into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: ye (of the body of Christ) are ALL one in Christ Jesus. 29 If Ye Be Christ’s, Then Are Ye Abraham’s ‘Seed,’ and Heirs According to The Promise.

We today, as members of “the body of Christ,” have been set into Christ’s “body” (cf. 1Cor 12:13). We do not participate in God’s earthly promises to Abraham for earthly people, Israelyet we are one with Abraham’s promised One “Seed, which is Christ” (Gal. 3:16) by His Spirit-life deposited into us... to be our new life. I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me... (Gal. 2:20a).

So, with the Satanically instigated fall of Adam, God set in motion His eternal plan. After Adam’s fall God told the Devil; “while you will in the interim bruise His (Jesus”) heel, He will in the finale crush your (the Devil’s) head” (paraphrased, Gen. 3:15). This verse reaches across the centuries and millennia past all Jesus’ human lineage to the time when the “Son of man” would be born of Mary as “the Lamb of God,” and complete His passion at the cross. By the cross He accomplished the “will of the Father” (John 10:18) in ‘reconciling’ mankind to God by paying for “the sins of the (entire) world,” which was for ALL of us.

Yes, Satan killed Jesus’ “body of flesh,” but Jesus was raised from the dead by the Spirit of the Father (Acts 13:30, 34, 38; Rom 8:11). Unknowingly, in accomplishing the crucifixion of Jesus, Satan sealed his own fate. With Jesus’ “heel” having been bruised” as the Lord promised Adam and Eve, Satan was simultaneously crushed, defeated. But, only after Satan’s usefulness is no longer needed will the Devil be “cast into the lake of fire” (Rev. 20:10), which will occur at the end of the Millennial reign of Christ, prior to the eternal kingdom.

We as believers are blessed to be the literal birthed “children of God,” born of God’s spiritual loins, born of His “Seed… born into His family. Our organic (living) relationship with God the Father is by His very own life that is in His One “Seed, which is Christ.”

Jesus spoke of Himself being sown as a seed in death that He might produce “the many sons” of God, who will be brought to “glory” (Colossians 1:27b).

John 12:24 (Jesus, speaking of His death) … Except a corn of wheat (kernel/grain/seed) fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit (many gains).

Christ’s “Spirit of life” is now available as the Spirit-Seed of His life (2Cor. 3:17, Rom. 8:2) to be birthed into the human spirit (Zech. 12:1b, Jn. 3:6) of as many as will receive Him. Yes, All men are reconciled to God by the death of His Son… but only those who believe to receive Jesus Christ as Savior will partake of His Seeded life and be counted among of the “many son’s” of God (cf. Heb. 2:10).
