Part 5 – Dispensational Changes

The Book of Ephesians proceeds to show us that, in addition to our spiritual disadvantage being corrected, our dispensational disadvantage has been removed.

Ephesians 2 explains the dispensational change that affects us:

“Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; 12That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: 13But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.” (Ephesians 2:11-13)

Once, as Gentiles cut off from God, we are now made close to God by Jesus’ shed blood.

“[14] For he is our peace, who hath made both (Gentile and Jew) one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; [15] Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

[16] And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body (of Christ) by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: [17] And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. [18] For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.”

God is taking Jews and Gentiles who will believe on His Son, Jesus Christ, and forming “one Body” — “the Church, the Body of Christ.”

“[19] Now therefore ye (Gentiles) are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; [20] And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; [21] In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: [22] In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.”

God is building His house, which is we Christians of “the church, which is His body”… in and through whom, He expresses His life.

Ephesians 3 “[1] For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, [2] If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: [3] How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery (former secret plan of God); (as I wrote afore in few words, [4] Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)

[5] Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; [6] That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: [7] Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.”

Be sure to notice Paul’s apostleship is connected to the Dispensation of Graceour dispensation today! Jesus Christ directly revealed to Paul the information God has for “the Church, the Body of Christ.” The revelation that Paul received is fare reaching, to include God’s regained rulership in both “the heaven and the earth” through his appointed agents – the raptured “body of Christ” in heaven and later … the nations Israel on earth.

Colossians 2:15 And having spoiled (Gk. apekdyomai, Throwing Off) Principalities and Powers, he (Christ) made a shew of them openly, Triumphing Over Them in it.

Ephesians 3:8-13 8Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ (otherwise, beyond finding out); 9And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

10To The Intent That Now Unto ‘The Principalities and Powers In Heavenly Places’ might be known by the church the Manifold Wisdom Of God, 11According to the Eternal Purpose Which He Purposed In Christ Jesus our Lord: 12In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him. 13Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.”

So now here above, in this one succinct summary, we have the exact ramifications of what God is doing… as will affect the Eternal Arrangement of both “the heaven and the earth.”  The Satanic fallen angelic host who currently occupy the offices of rank and authority referred to as the principalities and powers will be overthrown and replaced by the members of “the body of Christ” in these “heavenly places.”
