Part 5 of 5 - The Believer's Course of Deliverance from Sin

This Article is part of a multi-part Study Series called The Fellowship of the Mystery.

Romans 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through (do to) the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned (judged and damned) Sin in the flesh:

Earlier we discussed the wonders of God's grace in that we have union with the Lord by His indwelling "Spirit of life." Yet, we all know that we sometimes fail and do the things we know we ought not to do. All of us may at times become stressed and anxious in the midst of the situations and circumstances of life that we all face. The good news is that the indwelling Lord has made a way for us to endure these situations with rest and peace in our hearts.

When tempted with trials and in the face of fear, etc., Paul says the Lord will provide us with the only effective way of escape.

1 Cor. 10:13 …no temptation (Gk., pierasmos, trial) taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but (He) Will With The Temptation Also Make A Way To Escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Fear and anxiety are not of the lord... they emanate from "the flesh" in which Sin dwells. Paul wrote "... whatsoever is not of faith is sin." (Romans 14:23)  The "way" of escape is faith...to trust in God's love care and in the very life of "Christ in you" to be your satisfaction.! Only His Spirit within us is able to overcome that which is of the flesh.

John 14:6 Jesus saith... I am the way, the truth, and the life (Zoë, God's spirit-life)...

Matthew 11:28-30 (Jesus said) Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn (know me) of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

2 Cor. 3:15-17 But even unto this day, when Moses (the Law) is read, the vail (of flesh) is upon their heart. Nevertheless when it (the heart) shall turn to the Lord (Jesus), the vail (flesh) shall be taken away (Gk., kartargeo, made of no effect).

17Now the Lord (Jesus) is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (from the fleshly)."

Galatians 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust (impulse) of the flesh.

We are all in the process of learning to let go of our situation by trusting the Lord, wherein we find this rest and peace... in the midst of our trials.

The ONE Work for the Christian - Believe in (trust in, cling to, rely upon) Christ

Jn 6:29 Jesus answered, This is the work (that is ordained) of God, that ye believe (trust in, cling to and rely upon) on him whom he hath sent.

Jn 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace (rest). In the world ye shall have tribulation (Gk., thlipsis, pressure): but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Do we believe the fact that Christ's 'limitless life' and nature dwells Within Us to be our new life? This trust is to be held by faith in what God has done in crucifying and raising us from the dead to be the life-giving Spirit... who dells in us.

Colossians 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

Colossians 1:27 ... the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is 'Christ in you,' the hope of glory (the 'glorious' expression of His limitless life).

The One Work We Have is to Turn to Trust Christ. This is the is the basis of enjoying His Rest.

Hebrews 4:1-3, 5-6, 9-10 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

The practical purpose of His turning us to Him – is to push us and keep us in a submitted Union with Christ. The joy of His turning us to Christ in us is... Rest & Peace in our Souls.

Deut. 30:2 And shalt return unto the Lord thy God, and shalt obey his voice (not the outer Law) according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul;

Psalm 116:7 Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee.

Jeremiah 24:7 And I will give them (the Israel) an heart to know me, that I am the Lord: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.

God is at work in 'All Things' according to His purpose, to "conform us to the image of His Son."

"All Things are working for the Good" that His Children will become the grown up "sons."

Romans 8:28-29 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 29For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the (indwelling) Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Satan, as the negative in the world, was ignorantly useful in being used by God to accomplish His eternal "mystery" plan... to offer His son on the Cross for us.

1 Corinthians 2:7-8 But we speak the wisdom of God in a 'mystery,' even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the (Satan inspired secular and religious) princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would NOT have crucified the Lord of glory.

Satan 'did not know" he was playing into God's hand, whereby after Jesus  died He rose from the dead to become "the life-giving Spirit" (1Cor 15:45). Now Christ can live in every believer!

Likewise, even Satan's temptations are working in the world and in humanity, according to God's Purpose… even pushing us  to Trust Christ in us as our new, overcoming, life.

Ephes. 2:2-5, 8-10 in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation (manner of living) in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. BUT GOD, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us (made us alive)  together with Christ, For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that (faith is) not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are His Workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

God Works by Christ's "Spirit of life" within His Children's spirit... "both to WILL and to DO..."

Philip. 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Philip. 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Our Victory is by Trusting the Grace Seed (Christ) of Our Newly Birthed Life

1John 5:4 Whosoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even (that is) our faith (trust).
