FOUR KEYS TO BIBLE UNDERSTANDING -  

The 1ST KEY – Paul tells us how THE BELIEVING STUDENT IS EQUIPPED WITH and SEALED BY THE INDWELLING HOLY SPIRIT AS HIS TEACHER.

1 Corinthians 2:9-14 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 10 But God Hath Revealed Them Unto Us By His Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11 …the things of God knoweth no man, but (except by) the Spirit of God. 12 Now WE HAVE RECEIVED, not the spirit of the world, but THE SPIRIT WHICH IS OF GOD; (so) THAT WE MIGHT KNOW THE THINGS THAT ARE FREELY GIVEN TO US OF GOD. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which THE HOLY GHOST TEACHETH; COMPARING SPIRITUAL THINGS WITH SPIRITUAL. 14 But THE NATURAL MAN (psuchikos, the man of the soul, mind) RECEIVETH NOT THE THINGS OF THE SPIRIT OF GOD: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because THEY ARE SPIRITUALLY DISCERNED.

Ephesians 1:13 (Christ) In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, THE GOSPEL OF YOUR SALVATION: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were SEALED WITH THAT HOLY SPIRIT OF PROMISE,

WHAT IS THREE POINT "GOSPEL of YOUR SALVATION”? Paul answers this succinctly here in...

1 Corinthians 15:3-4 For I (Paul) delivered unto you first of all (set in first position) that which I also received (from Christ, Gal 1:12), how THAT CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS according to the scriptures; 4 AND that HE WAS BURIED, and that HE ROSE AGAIN THE THIRD DAY according to the scriptures:

1. Romans 6:23 (KJV) For the wages of sin is death; but THE GIFT OF GOD IS ETERNAL LIFE THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD.
2. Romans 5:8 (KJV) But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, WHILE WE WERE YET SINNERS, CHRIST DIED FOR US.
3. Romans 4:25 (KJV) Who (that is JESUS) WAS DELIVERED for OUR OFFENCES (sins), AND WAS RAISED again for OUR JUSTIFICATION.

The 2ND KEY – INSPIRATION & PRESERVATION OF THE WRITTEN WORD OF GOD

We must always ask… “For WHAT SAITH THE SCRIPTURE? …” (Romans 4:3a (KJV)

2 Tim 3:14-17 (Paul writes to Timothy) But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 15 And that from a child thou hast known THE HOLY SCRIPTURES, which ARE ABLE TO MAKE THEE WISE UNTO SALVATION THROUGH FAITH WHICH IS IN CHRIST JESUS. 16 ALL SCRIPTURE IS GIVEN BY INSPIRATION OF GOD, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly (Gk., exartizo, inwardly) furnished unto all good works.

Inspiration Of The ‘Words’ of The Bible: The very "words" in the Bible are inspired - not the writers. God told Moses “write THE WORDS” (Exo 17:14). The phrase “inspiration of God” is the Greek, “theopneusto,” meaning divinely breathed, derived from “spirit,” (Gk, pneuma), meaning “God’s breath.”

Note who is speaking in these verses?

Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is WRITTEN, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

John 6:63 (KJV) It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: THE WORDS THAT I (JESUS) SPEAK UNTO YOU, THEY ARE SPIRIT, AND THEY ARE LIFE.

Acts 1:16 Men and brethren, this scripture (Gk. graphe, the written words) must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.

Acts 28:25 And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers,

2 Peter 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

The Preservation Of The Written Word:

2 Timothy 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known THE HOLY SCRIPTURES, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

IDENTIFICATION of the Written WORD of God for the English Speaking People Today:

Perversions of God’s Word are plenteous today (NIV, ESV, NASB, AMP, RSV, Living Bible, et al) and nothing new.

Jeremiah 23:36 (KJV) ...ye have PERVERTED THE WORDS OF THE LIVING GOD…

2 Corinthians 2:17 (KJV) (Paul writes) For we are not as many, which CORRUPT the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.

Mark 4:15 (KJV) SATAN COMETH … and TAKETH AWAY THE WORD… sown in their hearts.

Most pastors and Christians consider the modern Bible translations they use as ‘harmless,’ but they’re not. There has been a concerted effort to corrupt the word of God. Satan seeks a ‘universal Bible’ of his own, as the basis for unifying all religions into a one-world religion, under a one-world government led by the coming false messiah, Anti-Christ, possessed by Satan himself. His Bibles diminish the pure Gospel of Christ, His deity, His virgin birth, God as His Father, The redeeming power of His Blood.

You might ask; how can you say that? If you compare the modern translations (NIV, ESV, NASB, AMP, RSV, Living Bible, et al) carefully with the 1611 Authorized King James Bible, verse for verse, you will see that there is a concerted effort to diminish the place and singularity of Jesus as “the Son of God,” and His blood shed that was “for the sins of the world.” Certain Words are missing (e.g. Lucifer) or altered, while whole verses are missing.

Even The New King James Bible Version has 100,000 changes from the KJV. It omits “hell” 22 times, “blood” 23 times, “repent” 44 times, “heaven” 50 times, “God” 51 times, “Lord” 66 times, and “devils,” “damnation,” and “JEHOVAH,” are completely omitted. Most all modern translations (NIV, ESV, NASB, AMP, RSV, Living Bible, et al) have been similarly corrupted because they are most all derived from the very same “new” corrupted 1881 Greek text that was assembled by Westcott & Hort. These two men drew their “new” Greek text from the disputed Alexandrian text and Latin Vulgate. Of the 600 existing oldest manuscripts, only two agree with these, 598 agree with the KJV. A group of “scholars” in Alexandria, Egypt thought they could do better than the KJV’s ‘Received Text’ of the Textus Receptus manuscripts. They made their ‘corrections’ that they thought better presented what the Scriptures ‘should say’ rather than what is ‘does say.’ Some of their errors were gross blunders (e.g., quoting Malachi and calling it from Isaiah, See NIV Mark 1:3) but others were more subtle such as the slight word changes to take away the deity of Christ – saying “the Son,” rather than “the Son of God.” They actually removed forty (40) whole verses they didn’t like; e.g., Act 8:37. The KJV’s Textus Receptus is the Greek text that has been used by Christians for nearly 2,000 years. Over 99% of the 5,200 existing Greek New Testament manuscripts are in agreement with the text of the English KJV Authorized Version of 1611. Yet, the Alexandrian text has recently been the most influential in the so-called modern, critical editions of the Greek New Testament, achieving widespread acceptance in the Greek text of Westcott & Hort (1881), culminating in the United Bible Society Nestle-Aland 27th edition of the New Testament. The Catholic RSV of 1965 and NSRV of 1981 are based on the “second hand” Latin Vulgate Text.

Who was Westcott & Hort?

“Brooke Foss Westcott (1825-1903) and Fenton John Anthony Hort (1828-1892) have been highly controversial figures in biblical history. On one side, their supporters have heralded them as great men of God, having greatly advanced the search for the original Greek text. On the other side, their opponents have leveled charges of heresy, infidelity, apostasy, and many others, claiming that they are guilty of WREAKING GREAT DAMAGE ON THE TRUE TEXT OF SCRIPTURE.”

Consider these Westcott/Hort Quotes & Facts:

“It cannot be said that they believed that one could attain Heaven by either works or faith, since both believed that Heaven exists only in the mind of man.” Westcott believed in and attempted to practice a form of Communism… Westcott & Hort believed it possible to communicate with the dead and made many attempts to do just that through a society which they organized, called “The Ghostly Guild.”  Westcott accepted and promoted prayers for and to the dead. Such necromancy, communion with the dead, is forbidden in Deuteronomy 18:10-11 There shall not be found among you any one that ... (is a) consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a NECROMANCER. Hort was a proponent of Darwin and his theory of evolution.

These men are the source of today’s modern Bibles – NIV, NASB, ESV, Living Bible, etc!

This a list of just a few of the Bible verses that you could check to see IF YOUR BIBLE HAS BEEN CORRUPTED or NOT. Then note the verses of the KJV compared your NIV, NASB, etc.

> WHO IS MARK QUOTING IN THE 1ST PART OF MARK 1:2?

Mark 1:2 (KJV) “As it is WRITTEN IN THE PROPHETS, Behold, I send my messenger…”

Below are two typical of the corrupted new age Bible translations, having inaccuracies.

Yes, Isaiah 40:3 comes close BUT the words “I WILL SEND MY MESSENGER” (KJV) are missing.

Isaiah 40:3 KJV The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD…

Actually, MARK 1:2 IS QUOTING the PROPHET MALACHI 3:1 – NOT ISAIAH.

Malachi 3:1 (KJV) Behold, I WILL SEND MY MESSENGER, and he shall prepare the way before me…

This is only one of many hundreds of major conflicts between the KJV and new age translations.

AS YOU WILL SEE IT’S IMPORTANT TO HAVE ALL the VERSES WITH ALL the WORDS!

> Who killed Goliath? We know young David killed Goliath, see Isaiah 21:9. Let’s compare Bibles.

2 Samuel 21:19 (KJV) And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaareoregim, a Bethlehemite, slew THE BROTHER of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver’s beam.

2 Samuel 21:19 (NIV, NASB, etc) In another battle with the Philistines at Gob, Elhanan son of Jaare-Oregim the Bethlehemite killed Goliath the Gittite, who had a spear with a shaft like a weaver’s rod.

> You can find the name “Lucifer” in Isa. 14:12 (KJV);  but it’s Not in NIV, NASB, ESV, AMP, RSV, etc.

> Are these complete VERSES IN YOUR BIBLE? NOT in the NIV, NLT, ESV, NET Bibles.

Matthew 17:21 (KJV) Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

Mark 9:44, 46, 48 (KJV) Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched

Acts 8:37 (KJV) And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that JESUS CHRIST IS THE SON OF GOD.

1 John 5:7 (KJV) For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. (This is an attack on the Triune Godhead!)

> Who is Jesus’ father? We know Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit from Mat 1:20.

• Luke 2:33 (KJV) And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him (Jesus). (Note that Joseph is not called Jesus’ father as it is below.)
• Luke 2:33 (NIV, NASB, etc) The child’s FATHER and mother marveled at what was said about him.

This is an attack on the truth that Jesus was “the Son of God,” conceived by the Holy Spirit (NOT Joseph).

> Is Jesus God?         Apparently NOT in the NIV, NASB, etc. (see below)

Romans 9:5 (KJV) Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh CHRIST CAME, WHO IS OVER ALL, God blessed for ever. Amen.

Romans 9:5 (NIV, NASB, et al) Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of Christ, who is God over all, forever praised! Amen.

> Were all things created by Jesus Christ?             NOT in the NIV, NASB, etc.

Ephesians 3:9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

Ephesians 3:9 (NIV) and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things.

> Jesus is “the Alpha and Omega, first & Last”!   NOT in the NIV, NASB, etc.

Revelation 1:11 (KJV) Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

Revelation 1:11 (NIV, NASB, etc) which said: “Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea.”

Note what is missing (above). Yet another attack on the Son of God as the eternal God!

> DOES GOD’S “WORD” MATTER? God’s “Name” is “above ALL blessing and praise.” Compare these.

Nehemiah 9:5b (KJV) … Stand up and bless the LORD your God for ever and ever: and blessed be thy glorious NAME, WHICH “IS” EXALTED ABOVE ALL blessing and praise.

Nehemiah 9:5 (NIV) …Stand up and praise the Lord your God, who is from everlasting to everlasting.” “Blessed be your glorious name, and “MAY IT BE” exalted above all blessing and praise.

> Yet, God has placed His WORD above His NAME! Compare the text.

Psalm 138:1-2 (KJV) I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee. 2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified THY WORD ABOVE ALL THY NAME.

Psalms 138:1-2 (NIV, NASB., etc) I will praise you, O Lord, with all my heart; before the “gods” I will sing your praise. 2 I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name AND your word.

THE PERFECT WRITTEN “WORD.”

Psalm 19:7-10 (KJV) The law (written instruction in the Torah, the Pentateuch) of the LORD is perfect (without blemish), converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. 8 The statutes (commandments) of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. 9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

1 Thess 2:13 (KJV) For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us (Paul and his), ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, THE WORD OF GOD, which effectually WORKETH ALSO IN YOU THAT BELIEVE.

1Cor 14:37 (KJV) If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I (Paul) write unto YOU ARE THE COMMANDMENTS (instruction) OF THE LORD.
