Why Believers Can Enjoy Security, Rest and Peace

The following describes the rest and secure relationship that is available to every Christian... by faith. We each should come to know the Lord personally, as our loving Father. We have this relationship because of His grace extended to us when He intervened and saved us. His purpose was much more... that we would receive and enjoy the blessings of His Son's life, by faith, Dwelling IN US as our New and Eternal life.

"But as many as RECEIVED HIM (Jesus), to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on (trust in) his name (that is "Jesus," Heb. Yehowshu`a, meaning, Jehovah-saves)" (John 1:12)

"...if any man be IN CHRIST, he is a NEW CREATURE: old things are passed away; behold, ALL THINGS ARE BECOME NEW." (2Cor 5:17)

Any believer who comes to see and trust the facts stated below will enjoy the fruit of the kind of loving relationship that we were meant to have and enjoy as we securely rest in Him and His care for us.

"Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into His Rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. (Heb 4:1); "therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached (Israel) entered not in because of unbelief" (Hebrews 4:6).

(So) There remaineth therefore a REST to the people of God. 10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own (self) works ... " (Heb 4:9-10).

Having and trusting the truth of the understandings presented herein will bring us security, peace and rest, even in the midst of all life's situations and circumstances. All we need do is simply believe, trusting all that He has done for us, and the work that Christ is now doing within us to renew our souls. Real "belief"  is "trust," which is faith applied, faith in action that bears the fruit of "rest: in Him.

I encourage the reader to look into the Bible verses referenced below, permitting the Holy Spirit to speak to you of God's loving relationship with you as He has to me. Thus I write these points in the first person.

- By His grace, mine now is a living, birthed, relationship with God as my loving Father. I'm born of His "Seed (sperma), which is Jesus Christ" (Gal 3:16, cf., 1Pet 1:23; John 3:6). I am now literally the Father's child by a literal, spiritual, birthing. Thereby, I now bear the Spirit-DNA of God in Christ within my spirit. God's "Seed" was deposited INTO the womb of my human spirit, according to His heart of love, making me the Father's birthed child (Rom 8:16, 1Jn 3:1). I am born of His loins, a child of the living God.

- Thus, mine is an everlasting, organic, "life" relationship with my Heavenly Father; it's NOT a legal or covenantal relationship, as Israel has. "...if the root be holy, so are the branches." (Romans 11:16b) 1"The Spirit Himself testifies together with our own spirit, [assuring us] that we are children of God. Rom 8:16 (AMP)

- We dwell in Christ and He Dwells Within Us.

"by one Spirit are we all baptized  into (set into) one body (of Christ)...and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. (1Cor 12:13) "To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this MYSTERY among the Gentiles; which is CHRIST IN YOU, the hope of glory" (Col 1:27)

- The Father sees me clothed "in Christ," covered with Christ's righteousness (2Cor 5:21). "For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God." (Colossians 3:3;cf.,  2Cor 5:21).

- I am forever ONE with Christ. I am in a permanent, indissoluble Union... With Christ.

"he that is joined unto the Lord is One Spirit." (1Cor 6:17) "... His (Christ's) Spirit that dwelleth IN YOU." (Rom 8:11)

- Now living under "the Grace of God," I'm NOT required to fulfill any laws, vows, precepts or promises such as relate to the Old Covenant God made with Israel. I'm not required to meet some external religious standard in order to be saved or to remain favored and secure as His loved child.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Eph 2:8-9)

"… YE ARE NOT Under THE LAW, BUT Under GRACE." (Romans 6:14b)

"IF BY GRACE, THEN IS IT NO MORE OF WORKS: otherwise grace is no more grace" (Rom 11:6a)

"Therefore, there is NOW No Condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:1)

I've been delivered from the burden of having to perform under demands of "the law" (Col 2:14). I live under "the grace of God," enjoying the new paradigm of "the dispensation of the grace of God."

- From the moment of my regeneration (my rebirth) I was the recipient of the only genuine love and "life," in the universe. That the life of God the Father, in the person of Christ, as "the Spirit of life" (Rom 8:2a, 9-10), to indwell me as my new life. This is the essence of Paul's "MYSTERY," the "gospel of the grace of God" (cf., Col 1:26-27, Rom 16:25, 2Thes 2:16, Eph 2:4, 1Jn 4:16-21, 5:1-3, Act 20:24).

- My Heavenly Father gave the life of His Son Jesus for me on the cross and take away ALL my sins (past present and future). I'm now forever saved from His judgment and from the coming wrath of God. I am sealed with the "Spirit of Christ," such that... no man can break my union with Him.

"And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. (Eph 4:32)  "For God has not appointed us to [incur His] wrath ...but [that we might] obtain [His] salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ (1Thess 5:9 (AMP)

"In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, YE WERE SEALED with that holy Spirit of promise" (Eph 1:13)

- I am now perfectly okay just as I am; I'm chosen based upon His foreknowledge and I'm "accepted" by Him, now standing "Holy and blameless in Christ" (Eph 1:4-6).

"According as he hath chosen us in him BEFORE the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, 6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved." (Ephesians 1:4-6)

- I stand Holy because of what Christ has done for me in obedience to the Father, as the Father's Lamb, sacrificed for me. (2Cor 5:18a, Rom 3:21) "For he (the Father) hath made him (Jesus) to be sin for us, who knew no sin; (so) that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." (2 Cor 5:21)

- I did nothing to obtain His love and my salvation, except top "believe." I can do no work in order to be declared righteous nor to earn or keep His love and care for me. I can only trust and rest in His grace and love (Eph 1:6, 2:8-9). "But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness."(Romans 4:5)

- I presently bear Christ's "Spirit of life" (Rom 8:2a) in and with my spirit (1Cor 6:17). In my spirit union with Christ, I now stand "as He is" (Gal 2:20, 1John 3:2, 7, 4:7, 17). I'm now a partaker of His eternal resurrected eternal "life" with His divine nature (Rom 5:8, John 3:16, 2Pet 1:4). "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but CHRIST LIVETH IN ME… (Galatians 2:20a)

- I have personally been "born of God," as if I were His only child; not as one of as of a people or a nation, as Israel (Eph 4:7, 1Cor 3:13, 1Thes 4:4).

- The "Spirit of life in Christ Jesus" dwells within my spirit (John 3:6, 1Cor 6:17). Christ Himself IN ME is my new life (Gal 2:20; Col 3:4a; 2Cor 3:17; 1Cor 15:45; Rom 8:9-10).

- I've been literally immersed into the one "body of Christ"; which is the eternal Christ-race of Christ-people who are a new creation sort of people (2Cor 5:17). Together we are the invisible "church, which is His body" (Eph 1:22b-23a), and we are His living temple made "without hands" (1Cor 3:16, 12:12).

- Part and parcel with receiving the indwelling Christ-Seed, I've gained the normal operation of "the law of (regulation by) the spirit of life in Christ Jesus" within me. This living "law" is the normal operation of His life within, governing me; empowering, prompting or restricting me as I sense and heed Christ alive in me.

- I'm God's son in a father/child relationship, NOT as a "servant." As His child I am an "heir of God" through Christ. (Gal 4:7, Rom 8:14, 16). Gal 4:7 ... thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.           Being His child, I am loved for who I am, not for what I do or don't do.

- I'm becoming renewed in soul "day by day" (2Cor 4:16). In learning to trust Him I can "just be" who I am by His life in me, as the new me. "For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man (body) perish, yet the inward man (of the soul) is renewed day by day." (2 Corinthians 4:16)

- Christ, now alive within me, is coming to be spontaneously expressed in and through me as the new me (Gal 2:20). "(He) worketh IN me both To Will and To Do of His good pleasure" (Philip 2:13).

- I need only to come to know Him, experientially, intimately. "ye have not so learned Christ" (Eph 4:20)

- I no longer have the stress of having to perform to any righteous religious standard through self-effort. I have no need to imitate Jesus of Nazareth because He really lives in and through me as my new life. I don't have to hypocritically act religious or spiritual, or to achieve anything in order to have or to maintain my relationship with God as my Father. I can be who I am by Christ in me, as me; living life without concern for outward appearances (Gal 2:21, Rom 12:9, Col 2:20-23) except as He may restrain me from within, knowing and realizing the 'sense of His life' spontaneously governing me.

- Now my daily walk is based upon that same grace and love (Col 2:6) as the grace and love that saved me; I walk in the pure "grace of God" (Rom 11:6). God has no expectation of me, apart from Christ's life operating within me. My heart is inwardly constrained by His love (2Cor 5:14).

- My Father made me and knows me personally; even the hairs on my head (Job 31:15, Matt 10:30).

- He is working in me that I might co-operate with the working of His life in me, by learning to trust and yield to His inner prompting or restraining. "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work IN YOU will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ" (Philippians 1:6) "... it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure."(Philippians 2:13)

- I know God as my Father is working in and through all the happenings in my life for my eternal good (Rom 8:28-32), even when things go bad or when I make wrong choice; that I might learn to trust in, cling to, and rely upon Him, just as Paul learned to trust by the suffering he endured in his life (2Cor 1:8-10).

- I may, only very occasionally, endure the chastening of God as a loving Father, as a remedial act of His love. "whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. 7If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; ...what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?"(Heb 12:6-7)

- I no longer need to "try" to be like Jesus of Nazareth. I'll not live the Christian life by my will-power, or presumption, rather I'm learning to live by a trusting expectation that Christ is operating in and through me in the midst of every situation. I embrace every situation of life as being of my Father God, who permits every circumstance to come into my life for my eternal good. I expect to overcome each situation with the evidence of rest and peace in the midst of trial. I view it all from the eternal perspective of it all "working for the good."

"WE KNOW that ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 29 For (us) whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate (us) to be conformed to the image of his Son ... " (Rom 8:28-29)              Paul wrote: "For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life: 9 But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, (so) that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:" (2 Cor 1:8-9)

- Knowing His love and the rich provision of Christ's life within, I can now let go of self-reliance, to trust Him operating in and through me in my daily life (cf., Gal 2:20) and for eternity. He alone the answer to every issue of living.

"being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope (Gk., elpis, confident expectation) of Eternal Life." (Titus 3:7) "... our conversation (citizenship) is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: 21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body (spirit-body)..." (Philip 3:20-21) "we know...if our earthly house of this tabernacle (body) were dissolved...an house not made with hands, Eternal In The Heavens. (2Cor 5:1)
