Thus, Paul wrote 2 Thessalonians to remind them of the timeline of future events (“things to come”) in order correct their understanding… so as to calm and comfort them with the truth. Paul had to differentiate the “day of Christ” at the Rapture from “the day of the Lord” (the 2^nd coming and Millennial Kingdom on earth). The lies of false teachers had troubled the Thessalonians, so Paul wrote to remind them of the timeline of things to come’ in order correct their understanding… to calm and comfort them with the truth.
