Practical Good Works

Adapted by Art Licursi from a paper by Ricky Kurth:

Every true believer knows they are saved by grace through faith, totally apart from “good works.” and any other performance requirement.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

“But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.” (Romans 4:5)

Sanctification of the Spirit

I've taken the title "Sanctification of the Spirit" from Paul's words in 2Thes 2:13. "…God hath from the beginning chosen you to (unto) salvation through Sanctification of The Spirit …"

For many the Bible doctrine of sanctification is thought to be a negative matter; "Don't do this" and "Don't do that." Paul here speaks against this form of false sanctification as fostered by the "doctrines of men," while not being of God.
