Faith Alone

Faith is one of the most precious treasures a man can possibly possess. It is a pity that so few understand what the Bible teaches about it.

Faith is often confused with presumption, optimism, determination, superstition and imagination. Actually it is simply believing. This is why we read in Rom. 4:5:

“But to him that worketh not, but believeth on Him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.”

A Stone of Stumbling

Prophecy fulfilled in Christ’s death and resurrection.

Psalm 118:22 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.

The head stone here is also called the corner stone, from which a building is measured and laid out to be in perfect alignment and order, as a building that will stand long and strong.

Shortly after the crucifixion of Jesus Peter spoke these words to the people of Israel concerning Jesus whom they had crucified.

Worship as Seen in Paul’s Epistles

Paul’s expansive view of the Christian life eliminates ‘worship’ as seen in the Old Testament under the Law, with its external rites of worship. Paul never once uses the word ‘worship’ in an external sense. But Paul speaks of thanksgiving, gospel sharing, walk in the spirit, and the sacrifice and offering of ourselves to the Lord.

Paul says all our lives should be an offering unto the Lord. Paul uses the terminology of a living sacrifice as pleasing to the Lord. Paul never speaks of ‘worship.’

A New Way of Living

Faith is among the most precious treasures any person can possibly possess. It's a shame that so few understand what the Bible teaches about faith. If they understood faith, its source, and its rewards, they would cease for their futile religious efforts in trying to earn God's favor. They would find the rest that is available only in trusting Christ in all their daily living.

Part 1 of 6 - "The Measure of Faith"

It is clear from the verse below that every person born into the world has received a "measure of faith" from God.

Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me (Paul), to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure (Gk., metron, portion) of faith.

The Peace of God

Many Christians pray for peace for one another – “Lord give him (or her) peace.” But what is the source of peace for believers? Is this a legitimate prayer for believers?

If we believe these verses below we already have  "peace with God" as well as "the peace (that is) of God that passeth understanding...through the Lord Jesus Christ" who lives within us as our present reality.
