God's Faithfulness and Ours

Many people suppose that salvation is God’s reward to those who do their best to live good lives. This is not so, for God’s Word says of those who are saved: “Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began” (II Tim. 1:9).

Sanctification of the Spirit

I've taken the title "Sanctification of the Spirit" from Paul's words in 2Thes 2:13. "…God hath from the beginning chosen you to (unto) salvation through Sanctification of The Spirit …"

For many the Bible doctrine of sanctification is thought to be a negative matter; "Don't do this" and "Don't do that." Paul here speaks against this form of false sanctification as fostered by the "doctrines of men," while not being of God.
